Full Stop - Final show at Such and Such

Happy New Year!
In this prophetic year and with the forthcoming end of civilization as we know it, we have decided it fitting that the doors of Such and Such studio should also close in 2012.
It's been an amazing 18 months, but we feel the time is right to move on and concentrate on other projects, and work out survival strategies for the forthcoming apocalypse.

So, we're pleased to announce our final show will be a mini retrospective of artists who have previously exhibited in the space. We think it's a pretty exciting selection, bringing together painting, illustration, sculpture, printmaking, jewellery and textile design.

Confrmed artists include -
Jessica Harrison
Rabiya Choudry
Ross Fraser Mclean
Jamie Johnson
Al White
Ben Seeley
Callum Monteith
Catherine Johnston

Alex Gibbs
Matthew Swan
Rachel Barron
Judith Clark
David Anderson
Stuart McMorris
Kristen Orme

The exhibition will run from 13th - 29th January, before the space closes in February.

PREVIEW - Fri 13th, 7-9pm
Open - 14th - 29th Jan, 12-5pm Daily

You can read a wee preview in The Skinny Magazine here

Thanks for all your support and we hope to see you at the opening or during the exhibition.

Such and Such will be returning later in the year under a new guise, so please check back for updates.

Thanks,
Dave, Alex, Caroline and Charlotte.

Sequence; a pop up print workshop by Rachel Barron

Such and Such is proud to host Sequence; a pop up print workshop by recent ECA graduate
Rachel Barron.

Rachel draws from a wide range of influences including; astronomy, geometry, coded language, early computing devices and graphic musical notation.

She strives to obtain order through the use of a unique print device created during her time at Art College, this allows her to to plot geometrical shapes and repetitive patterns, controlling the symmetry and alignment of each work produced.

Ink stamps fit within a regimented guide, movable along two perpendicular axes. Each stamp represents one unit, similar to the characters within a typewriter. Using a coordinate system of letters and numbers along each axis, Rachel is able to set the position of every printed mark whilst charting the path of each drawing as patterns are formed.

We invite you to join us for a preview evening on Friday 11 November from 7-9pm at Such and Such studio.

Rachel will be running a pop-up print workshop open to the public during the exhibition, allowing participants to produce their own print using the device. If you would like to book a place on one of the 4 available groups (max 5 people per workshop) please get in touch via email - hello@suchandsuchstudio.co.uk
